There may be some trouble brewing between former “Wild ‘n Out” costars Nick Cannon and Karlous Miller. And trust us when we tell you, it’s not looking too good for Cannon. Let’s get into it.
Things all kicked off after a clip of a recent interview “The Masked Singer” host did began making the rounds on social media. Cannon sat down with Shannon Sharpe for his “Club Shay Shay” podcast, where they talked about a variety of things. However, the conversation became even more interesting when Sharpe asked Cannon to clarify whether he had Miller fired from the show years ago. For context, Miller got the boot after season 12 in 2018. However, due to popular demand from fans, he’d eventually find his way back as a recurring cast member in the following season.
Speaking out about the whole ordeal, Cannon was adamant that he didn’t play a part in Miller’s firing, but pointed to a few other factors that may have contributed to it, including Miller’s outspoken nature on set.
“I didn’t fire Karlous! Them people [did]. Probably more of what it was—because Karlous is Karlous all the time—he was like ‘Nick, these motherf*ckas ain’t funny! And he would be making people uncomfortable. ‘What that white man behind the camera actually doing?’ Like he would be saying sh*t like that, but we cracking up laughing. But it’s literally people getting nervous,” Cannon explained.
He went on to say that it was that part of Miller’s personality, along with his agent’s attempt to get him paid more for being on the show, that made it difficult for him to stay on. However, Cannon was clear that “no one is ever fired from “Wild ‘n Out,” and that all of the cast members can come and go as they please.
“It’s an open-door policy. And so, we played it up where he was like ‘ahh Nick fired me!’ And I was like ‘ah, alright I did!’ But I had nothing to do with it,” Cannon said. “But in that sense, I damn sure made sure Karlous was back. And when he came back, and we could afford him, however that ended up working out—I was like ‘we gotta make a big deal out of this.’”
However, despite Cannon’s position, it appears there may still be some bad blood between the two, as evidenced by Miller’s response to his interview on X/Twitter. After getting wind of Cannon’s words, the #85South host offered up an alternate point of view.
“That’s right. He don’t fire nobody, he gets them other mfs to do it and act like he don’t know shit about it,” he wrote in a post recently. “
He added in two follow-up posts: “Karlous Miller ‘drama’ includes asking to be paid correctly, to stop giving writing credits to muhfu*kas who ain’t wrote sh&t for nobody, and to be paid for all the shows that are being used as monetized content on social media. When they can’t use you and exploit you, you’re the problem. I wasn’t gone say sh*t but they keep bringing the sh*t up and trying to make me look crazy. Got the whole black community thinking I did some sh*t to them folks. I was just a nigga at work that ain’t gone let mfs handle me any kind of way.”
He concluded his thoughts by saying that people needed to give him the amount of money they agreed on, and he wouldn’t be a problem with anyone. However, judging by his new comments, whoever was holding onto Miller’s coins might just keep doing so out of spite, as a lot of his fans are siding with him on the matter.
Cannon has yet to respond to Miller’s new claims, but honestly, he’s got bigger fish to fry given the fresh new embezzlement drama with his accountant. You might need to square things away with your old coworker Nick; money issues seem to be following you like the plague.
