Released in 2000, the horror spoof Scary Movie was written by Shawn and Marlon Wayans and directed by their older brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans. The plot follows a group of teenagers who accidentally kill a man, dump his body in a lake, and find themselves hunted a year later—hilariously mirroring slasher hits like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream, and The Blair Witch Project.
Driven by a stellar cast, the film’s massive success spawned five sequels. While the Wayans family departed after the second installment, they officially reclaimed creative control for the franchise’s newest chapter, Scary Movie 6, which hit theaters on June 5, 2026. With the hype of the new film bringing the beloved franchise back into the spotlight, it’s the perfect time to look back at the original cast. Here is a look at where they are now.
Marlon Wayans

The youngest Wayans brother, Marlon, stars as Shorty Meeks, and it seems as if the talented comedian never takes a day off! Ever since he appeared as a cast member in Keenan’s first television show, “In Living Color,” he has not left the public eye. He has starred in two TV shows (“The Wayans Bros.,” and “Marlon”), made a boatload of movies (“Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood,” “White Chicks,” and “Fifty Shades of Black”) and hit the stage as a stand-up comedian, and has been involved in many projects over the years.
Shawn Wayans

Shawn, who has not been actively involved in any movie or television projects, makes his cinematic return as Ray Wilkins. The former “In Living Color” in-house DJ has been at the side of his brother, Marlon, in several projects (“White Chicks, “Scary Movie 2,” and “Little Man,” including their self-titled television series) and was last seen in the 2009 movie, “Dance Flick.”
Regina Hall

Brenda Meeks is played by Hollywood stalwart Regina Hall. She has played a role in many popular movies (“The Best Man,” “The Honeymooners,” and “Think Like A Man”) and has received several awards for her acting (“Support the Girls,” “Nine Perfect Strangers, and “One Battle After Another”). She will next be seen in an upcoming movie, “In Memoriam.”
Anna Faris

Farris played one of the main characters, Cindy Campbell, and “Scary Movie” was her breakthrough role. She, along with Hall, has appeared in every “Scary Movie” installment except the fifth. She will be starring in the upcoming movies, “Spa Weekend” and “Primetime.”
Carmen Electra

Electra reprises the role of Drew Decker and has appeared in several spoof films over the years (“Date Movie,” “Epic Movie,” and “Meet the Spartans”), but was also known for starring in “Baywatch” and the MTV reality series, “Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave” with her then-husband, guitarist Dave Navarro. She was previously seen in the 2024 Netflix series “That ’90s Show.”
Jon Abrahams

Bobby Prinze was played by Abrahams in the first movie and the latest sequel. Abrahams has had an extensive career in film (“Meet the Parents,” “Boiler Room,” and “House of Wax”) and was also a regular on the television series, “Boston Public.”
Shannon Elizabeth

The movie actress, who appeared in “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” and “Tomcats,” plays Buffy Gilmore and was last seen in 2024’s “Plan B.”
Dave Sheridan

Special police officer, Doofy Gilmore, was played by Sheridan. His movie credits include “A Haunted House,” “The Fighting Temptations,” and “Fifty Shades of Black.” In 2024, he guest-starred in the Prime Video animated series, “Meat the Carvers,” and appeared in the movie, “Stream.”
Lochlyn Munro

“Charmed” and “Riverdale” cast member Munro plays Greg Philippe. His movie roles were also in “Freddy vs. Jason,” “The Predator,” and “Totally Killer.” He can also be seen in this year’s “Vampires of the Velvet Lounge.”
Cheri Oteri

Oteri returns as Gail Hailstorm in the latest sequel. The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member is also a voice actress. Her voice can be heard on several animated series, “Puppy Dog Pals,” “Sit Down, Shut Up,” and “Big City Greens.” You can hear Oteri’s voice in “Happy’s Place.”
