Rapper Cordae has shared some personal news with his fans.
The North Carolina native usually keeps his private life quiet and rarely posts on Instagram or X. In fact, in a 2023 interview with Power 106, he said he doesn’t like being on social media and won’t keep the apps on his phone.
But when he began dating tennis player Naomi Osaka, his privacy changed, and now he’s sharing more than expected.
Cordae and Osaka became first-time parents in 2023 when they welcomed their daughter Shai. The two quietly broke up in 2025 without any formal announcement other than a cryptic post from Osaka.
Now it looks like the “Lost Boy” artist has not only moved on, but also has a new sibling for Shai.
Last week, Cordae dropped his joint album with Anderson .Paak, titled “Heavy is the Crown.”
On the album’s tenth track, “Helpless,” he opened up about his breakup with Osaka for the first time on wax.
Sampling the 1970 slow, emotional song by Philadelphia duo Dino & Sembello, Cordae pours his heart out about the struggles and pain in his life.
About 34 seconds into the track, he reveals, “I’m finna have my second child, although we still ain’t said our vows.”
The 29-year-old now seems regretful about having another child out of wedlock, as he did with Osaka.
“Was never my intention to raise my daughter in separate homes. Gave your mom my all, but the love she had for me dead and gone,” he rapped.
Referencing Jay-Z’s “Song Cry,” while hinting that he may have had faults in the relationship, Cordae added, “Although you ain‘t a man if you can’t admit it when you was wrong, can’t see it comin’ down my eyes, so do it through this song.”
Osaka has yet to respond to the news that her ex has a child with someone else, but the internet sure has its opinions.
One fan gave Cordae unsolicited advice: “Make it right then.”
A second person who shamed him said, “Sounds like he got another woman pregnant with no vows… Glad Naomi got out, good for her!!”
A third fan who assumed Cordae caused the breakup speculated, “So he cheated and created a baby… but it wasn’t his intention to break the first home… I guess…”
Neither party has stated why their split occurred.
If Cordae has a child that is still on the way, it isn’t likely this pregnancy is a result of him cheating on Osaka.
The two had been dating for six years before Osaka announced their breakup in January 2025.
In a now-deleted Instagram story post, she wrote, “Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship.”
At the time, she said there is “no bad blood at all” amid the split and described the rapper as a “great person and an awesome dad” to their daughter, Shai, who was born in July 2023.
Osaka added, “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.”
She ended by saying she was happy they crossed paths because their daughter is her “biggest blessing,” and she grew from their relationship.
It seems to be true that the two are at least cordial, as they both still follow each other on social media.
Cordae did not reveal the identity of his second child’s mother or the child’s gender. Meanwhile, Osaka has been relatively private and has not revealed whether she is dating.
