Katie Zacharia short tenure as President Donald Trump’s official spokeswoman continues to be a dark cloud over her head.
Even though Zacharia, 42, left the administration in record time, the former Newsmax commentator still advocates for her former boss.
The shortest-serving White House press secretary in American history became an international laughingstock when she only lasted five days in the position.

Trump, 80, announced Zacharia as the second press secretary of his second term. She replaced Karoline Leavitt after the 29-year-old New Hampshire native departed in August.
Confusion over Zacharia referring to herself as an attorney ignited inquiries that resulted in her admitting that she had never passed any bar examination. Her credibility took a major hit.
Three days after taking part in her lone press briefing on Oct. 13, Zacharia found herself without a job. Her time working for Trump’s communications team swiftly came to an end.
Zacharia’s loyalty to Trump did not stop with her dismissal from the White House. In fact, the California native tried to defend the MAGA chief on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
That conversation ended up being very contentious. Morgan, 61, opened the interview by pointing out that Zacharia found herself at the center of an “extraordinary firestorm.”
“How did you feel going through it?” Morgan asked his guest. A smiling Zacharia responded by obsequiously praising Trump and lauding her time serving the Republican leader.
When Morgan reminded Zacharia that Trump fired her after five days, the Pepperdine University graduate downplayed the termination by referring to the president’s comments on Oct. 16.
Trump spoke to reporters on the White House’s South Lawn before the announcement that Zacharia would be transitioning out of her role as press secretary.
“I said, ‘Katie, you know, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want.’ She said, ‘This is a lot tougher.’ I said, ‘Welcome to the world of Trump,’” the POTUS told the press.
Zacharia bringing up Trump’s pre-firing remarks prompted Morgan to suggest that was the president’s way of nicely acknowledging his appointee had failed.
Like a devoted sycophant, Zacharia basically ignored Morgan and fell back into her talking points of glorifying Trump’s polarizing agenda. The tension began to rise with each sentence.
Morgan eventually called out Zacharia for not answering his questions. The former Daily Mirror editor also laughed off her complaints that he was not focusing on the midterm elections.
“Katie, the whole point of the interview is it’s about you,” Morgan said, before adding, “Let’s cut the crap here. Let’s have a serious, genuine conversation.”
Morgan then told the MAGA loyalist, “You’re sounding like a robot. Does Donald Trump got some program plugged into you to make you come out with all this stuff?”
Zacharia griped about how the television veteran framed the situation before declaring, “I do not sound like a robot.” Morgan reiterated that she agreed to discuss her firing on the show.
“If you’ve changed your mind, that’s fine. But that was the whole point of doing the interview,” Morgan stated. Zacharia fired back, “That’s not the topics I received, Piers.”
A clip of the tense exchange made its way to X. Zacharia did not garner a ton of supportive reactions. Conversely, the internet had a field day slamming the mother of four children.
“She’s a joke… she’s grasping at straws trying to stay relevant,” an X user tweeted about Zacharia. A similar tweet read, “She’s a f–ing joke, period.”
Additional accounts on the app called the former Department of Homeland Security official an “idiot” and a “loser.” Another person posted, “She’s ruthlessly stupid.”
“Watching her do live TV hits is like watching a drunk guy walk down an icy street. You just know it’s not going to end well,” one jokester quipped.
Someone sarcastically expressed disappointment over Zacharia’s firing by writing, “What a shame — this would have been such a great provider of ‘SNL’ material had she not been canned.”
Despite having to embarrassingly walk back hand-picking Zacharia to be his administration’s official mouthpiece, Trump has returned the favor of her fidelity by repeatedly defending her following the fallout from the firing.
Trump championed the axed press secretary at a campaign rally in Florida on Oct. 23. The businessman-turned-politician blasted the media for “screaming” at the “perfect, beautiful, woman” who represented him poorly over five days.
