‘She Did Not Look Happy’: Trump Gets Awkwardly Close to Senate Hopeful After Putting Her on the Spot With a Cheap Shot

Donald Trump does not have much of a filter left, nor does he subscribe to respectability politics.

The president would say he calls it like he sees it, especially when he sets his sights on a fellow politician.

If the individual is a woman, he leans into the opportunity to share his unsolicited, sometimes vulgar thoughts. Just like when he targeted a woman reporter and called her “piggy.”

During a campaign rally, Trump may look into the audience, spot a woman he finds attractive, and delve into a bizarre tangent.

That very scene played out during an October rally in Mississippi, where he told a woman, “Stand up. The beautiful blond-haired woman. You’re a farmer? You don’t look like a farmer to me. Do all farmers look like you? I don’t think so.”

By now, the public is all too familiar with Trump’s wandering eye and comments that leave people cringing. His appearances on stages ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election results were no different.

Trump showed up to speak for multiple Republican candidates, but his final remarks in Iowa left people stunned.

The businessman was delivering remarks on Nov. 1 in support of Senate hopeful Ashley Hinson, another blond woman, when his comments nosedived.

He told voters with his arms stretched out wide, “I knew Ashley for a long time, and she was a little bit heavier. She was.” The crowd laughed at his candor.

On occasion, Trump has told supporters about his “extremely fat” friend who tried to lose weight with a GLP-1 injection.

He told the cringe-worthy anecdote to people who gathered at a Mack Truck facility in Pennsylvania over the summer. It includes ridiculing the anonymous man for not achieving noticeable results while using “the fat drug.”

The POTUS allegedly told his pal, “‘I didn’t know you use it, because it’s not working.’”

That’s not the case for Hinson, according to Trump.

“She knew what she was doing, she knew the weight that was on her, literally the weight, and she knew the importance of what she was doing,” he said.

“She went out the old-fashioned way, too, not with, you know, getting a shot,” he continued.

Not even an interruption caused by “paid protestors” deterred him from landing his “punchline.”

“She went on a regimen; she put herself in shape. She’s in perfect shape. She was good — I thought she was great the other way— but she put herself in shape, and she did that for you,” he noted.

“He’s DISGUSTING… The complete absence of basic respect is revolting,” a critic quipped.

Trump also admitted, “I’ve put on a couple pounds myself,” prompting several people to take swipes at his appearance.

One such comment read, “OMG! Trump stands up there…a sweaty, overweight, dementia-addled man complaining about politicians needing to be from ‘Central Casting.’”

Trump’s waist has ballooned along with his weight since he returned to office in January 2025.

He was reported to weigh about 238 pounds in May, a 14-pound increase from the previous year and doctors have advised him to increase his cardio.

When Hinson joined Trump on stage, she reached out her right hand for a handshake and was tugged forward, causing her to lean into an awkward hug and a kiss on the cheek.

He shook her husband’s hand before settling into his place a few feet behind the congresswoman. “Ooohh, she did not look happy,” an observer tweeted.

Hinson continued onto the mic with her remarks about how hard Trump was working for Iowans.

“Do we know how hard this man works for us? That’s right. Well, I can tell you, Mr. President, I know how late nights you’re working, how early mornings you’re putting in,” she said.

Still, many were stuck on her pause after she backed away from the podium and Trump touched her lower back.

One heckler remarked, “Lol… just like Melania does it. Turn your head so far, he can’t hit your lips.”

Melania Trump has a reputation for swerving her husband’s affection albeit an attempt to hold hands, a gentle pat on the back, or a kiss.

Critics groaned whenever they noticed the first lady sharply avoided his lips during the signing of the Women’s Health Division executive order at the White House in October.

The occasion marked the last time Melania showed up for first lady duties before midterm elections, as she was not by Trump’s side for any of his rallies.

His executive aide, Natalie Harp, remained a constant travel companion.
