Love is clearly in the air for a handful of our favorite Black celebrities and the latest famous face that’s preparing to tie the know just might surprise you! That face is none other than Michael Jackson’s oldest son, Prince.
Announcing his engagement to longtime girlfriend Molly Schirmang in late August, Jackson expressed his gratitude and excitement at calling her his wife soon, noting that they’d been together for eight years and they’d have “forever” to go.
“Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together,” he wrote in a post to Instagram sharing the news. “I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs.”

In June, Jussie Smollett revealed he proposed to boyfriend Jabari Redd in a series of since-deleted Instagram photos. While neither of them have said much else about their relationship since the initial announcement, we do know that they previously costarred as a couple in Smollett’s sophomore directorial project, “The Lost Holliday,” released in theaters last summer and available to stream now on Tubi.
Winnie Harlow & Kyle Kuzma
After dating for the last five years, NBA star Kyle Guzman and model Winnie Harlow announced their engagement in a joint post to Instagram in February. The lead photo showed Harlow kissing Guzman with a huge engagement ring on her hands.
Normani & DK Metcalf
Ciara and Russell were the wonderful couple behind Normani and NFL star DK Metcalf getting together, which only means they’re a couple that just might be headed for the long haul. The two announced their engagement in March during a press conference, with Metcalf revealing he popped the question during a trip to Houston.
Coco Jones & Donovan Mitchell
Singer Coco Jones shocked the internet when she posted a picture of her kissing her fiancé, NBA star Donovan Mitchell, while casually showing off her engagement ring on July 11. Though we don’t know much about their relationship, we do know that Russell Wilson and Ciara played a part in Mitchell’s beautiful proposal, which only give us more faith that the two of them will work out very well!
Saquon Barkley & Anna Congdon
Philadelphia Eagles player Saquon Barkely decided to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend Anna Congdon after an eight year relationship. He popped the question back in February and the two share two children together: son, Saquon Jr., born in 2022 and daughter Jade, born in 2018.
Tyrese Haliburton & Jade Jones
In a joint post to Instagram in late July, NBA Championship player Tyrese Haliburton announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Jade Jones. The Indiana Pacers star proposed inside the Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State — the college where they first met.
“The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins,” the caption on the post read.
“RHONY” Ubah Hassan & Oliver Dachsel
After going public with their relationship in May 2023, it would only be a few short years later until “Real Housewives of New York” star Ubah Hassan would become engaged to investment banker Oliver Dachsel. He reportedly asked for her hand in marriage during a simple outdoor proposal overlooking scenic mountain views in May.
“To love and be loved by someone so kind, deeply good, and quietly breathtaking,” she wrote in an Instagram post sharing the news.
Gabby Thomas & Spencer McManes
Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas got engaged to entrepreneur Spencer McManes during a private proposal on the rooftop of the couple’s Airbnb in Austin, Tex. The pair had been dating since 2022.
Deshaun Watson & Jilly Anais
In a simple joint post to Instagram in March, NFL star Deshaun Watson and girlfriend Jilly Anais announced they would be walking down the aisle soon.
