The Trainwrecks of the Met Gala 2026

The 2026 Met Gala has officially wrapped, and after a year of gatekeeping and mood boards, we finally saw who treated the red carpet like a canvas and who just made a mess. This year’s theme, “Fashion Is Art,” should have been a layup, but while some stars delivered masterpieces, others gave us nothing but sketches. From the tragically underdressed to the “doing too much” crowd, here are the celebrities who clearly missed the exhibit.

Edward Enninful and Emma Thynn

We would’ve expected something a little more interesting than a plain suit with no accessories from former editor-in-chief of British Vogue Edward Enninful. Beside him, British socialite and aristocrat Emma Thynn looked a little more on theme but not particularly exciting.

Skepta

Black British rapper Skepta had some fun with his look, embroidering all of his tattoos onto a white suit. However, the finished project looked like a student’s art homework.

Heidi Klum

Model and Queen of Halloween Heidi Klum was incredibly on theme last night, albeit a little scary! It’s not October just yet, Mrs. Klum.

Beyoncé

We love you, Queen Bey, but haven’t we seen this look before? We wish she would have done a little bit more for her first Met Gala in a decade.

Damson Idris

Damson Idris usually does the men proud with his fits, but this year his Met Gala outfit looked incomplete and out of place.

Lena Dunham

Creator of the hit show “Girls” Lena Dunham was hard to miss on the carpet last night, but it looked like she dipped her dress in a vat of glue, feathers and glitter and called it a day. Loving this red, though.

Cardi B

Cardi B, we love you, but what is this? Everything about this look is so confusing. We’re going to need a breakdown of what the vision for this outfit was because we can’t see it.

Bhavitha Mandava and Awar Odhiang

It’s giving “The Devil Wears H&M” for models Bhavitha Mandava and Awar Odhiang’s outfits. They could’ve at least stopped by Party City if they needed a quick costume. The only thing saving their looks is their face cards.

Colman Domingo

We expected to be wowed by Colman Domingo as usual, but this fit is giving a pack of playing cards. Not every year can be a winner.

Hudson Williams

“Heated Rivalry” star Hudson Williams loves to feature a train on his red carpet fits, but it’s not working this time around. His outfit looks unfinished. But the makeup was a nice touch.

Doja Cat

Doja Cat rocked a full nude outfit with a dress made out of… silicone? We’re not sure, but what we do know is that she can do better!

Sheinelle Jones

Journalist Sheinelle Jones looked gorgeous in her dress, but it would have been better suited for the Golden Globe Awards than the Met Gala.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid, we know your body is tea, but the theme is Fashion is Art and this fit is giving beachwear.

Lauren Sánchez Bezos

Again, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, while we can appreciate that your figure looks great in this dress, this is the Met Gala, not prom. Also, where is the jewelry? This look feels incomplete.

Mona Kosar

Journalist Mona Abdi’s dress was beautiful, but it looked like she was going to her bridal shower rather than the Met. Maybe she got lost on the way?

Alexi Ashe and Seth Meyers

A little attempt was made by Seth Meyers and his wife Alexi Ashe with the accessories on their outfits, which is why we wish they would have gone a little more full out. The potential is there; let out your inner fashionista!

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner must have been ready to go straight to bed after climbing the Met Gala steps because this robe screams bedtime.

Editor-in-Chief for Allure magazine Jessica Cruel ate with her makeup and hair, but her dress looks like it was made out of tissue paper. We’re worried it might rip on a door handle.

Welsh actor and singer Luke Evans showed up in a daring look that unfortunately did not work out in his favor. This suit is way too tight. Someone must have had to carry him up the steps because he looks stuck.
