While you might think five kids sounds more like a sports team than a family these days, there are lots of examples of big, beautiful and loving Black families in Hollywood.
Contrary to some online chatter surrounding Ciara and Russell’s big news, adding another bundle of joy into the fold when two parents love each other and are dedicated to creating the best environment for their kids is a win for Black love. And any comments that say otherwise ought to be dissected and filtered through the lens of misogynoir. But that’s another story for another day. Over the Labor Day Weekend, Ciara posted a series of photos announcing that she and hubby Russell Wilson were expecting their fifth child. Their new bundle of joy will join the couple’s previous children, Future, 12; Sienna, 9; Win, 6; and Amora, 2.
