Steve Wonder and an ex-fiancée remain deadlocked in a battle over a Los Angeles home.
The point of contention has Stevie’s former lover singing a different tune about the prolific artist almost 40 years after they dated.
Carmen Efferson has been living in one of the singer’s homes since July 1988.

According to his old flame, Stevie and Jefferson had a “verbal agreement” that the house was hers.
The 25-time Grammy Award winner has been footing the bill for the residence, while his ex covers the utilities.
The informal arrangement has since spurred a battle over the Hollywood Hills residence. On Oct. 22, the “Part-Time Lover” singer filed to evict her from the property.
A lawsuit developed after Efferson repeatedly denied the songwriter’s attorneys and insurance inspectors access to the home this summer.
Stevie’s complaint included a July 23 email informing his ex an inspection scheduled for July 30.
It stated the purpose of the visit was to “conduct an inspection for the purposes of maintaining insurance coverage on the property.”
Efferson purportedly responded on July 25. She said she was “feeling harassed” and did “not consent” to the insurance inspection.
Her frustrations also included remarks about her ex’s attorney. She accused the professional of having a “rascist cold-blooded ‘white male privilege’” tone. The individual was neither white or male.
She was served a notice to vacate the abode by Aug. 27, but that date passed, and Efferson has remained in her home of 38 years.
TMZ published photos of her watering her plants on Oct. 28 amid the legal fight.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Efferson said, “He’s going to paint this like I am the one who is lying, and there is no talking to this fool. I’m so sick of someone like him always getting away with this s–t.”
“Nobody wants to say this, but I know that he is a gaslighter and a manipulator,” said Efferson.
“I didn’t even want the house at first — but he kept insisting. I’ve never been a materialistic person, and I never asked for a house. But we came to an agreement, a verbal one, that this would be my house.”
Fans aren’t quite sure whom to believe.
One person remarked, “That raggedy house is probably worth millions in LA. So let me understand this….they were friends with benefits for years? He promised her the house but there’s no deed. She should get an attorney and negotiate a move.”
A second individual insisted, “Something is missing. He knew her well enough to know what to do to get her out. He knew she would tell the insurance they could not come in.”
“Hey lady when its over its over,” read a third response.
On Instagram, two more comments stated, “This is so messy” and “Girl the wife said it’s time to go.”
Stevie married his third wife, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, in 2017. They are parents to two children, Zaiah and Nyah.
He is also the father of seven older children — Aisha, Mumtaz, Kwame, Kailand, Sophia, Keita, and Mandla — all from previous relationships.
