Knicks Parade Viral ‘Traffic Light Climber’ Gives Her Side of the Story After Fight

The Knicks’ ticker-tape parade took over New York on June 18 as fans crowded the city to celebrate winning the NBA Championship after 53 years of losing. With an estimated 2 million attendees sardined together for the festivities, it is not surprising that a fight broke out at some point. One Black woman who went viral for dragging a White lady to the floor and twerking afterward is telling her side of the story.

The notorious traffic light climber, better known by her Instagram handle @Redspunch, has been the talk of social media because of a video clip of her scaling the road signals and yelling, “But you mad though,” at a White woman who was sitting below, shaking her head. As she was climbing back down from the lights, Reds Punch flung the aggravated lady to the ground before twerking in the woman’s face, who then got up and ripped off Reds Punch’s shorts and underwear.

On TikTok, multiple angles of the fight have been posted with audio comparing their scuffle to a WWE match, making Reds Punch look like the legendary Undertaker.

However, while some online users found the clips funny and others have accused her of being a bully, Reds Punch has taken to Instagram to clear up what really went down because social media never tells the full story.

“What’s up, gang? It’s me, traffic light climber. Everybody wants to know my side of the story,” she started. “I decided that I wanted to take a picture on top of the traffic light. I don’t know the young lady, [but she] wants to be screaming and cussing like ‘You’re a fat Black bitch.’ I said, ‘Okay, but you’re mad though.’”

Continuing, Reds Punch said she reached the point where she decided to come down to speak with the lady, but the woman tried to pull her by the leg.

“She was trying to knock my legs off; you’re not about to knock my hands off of it (the traffic light). On the way down, I decided to just, hello, boop, throw you down before you try to move my hands,” she said, before adding, “I had to twerk. But I got fed up with that because I have to hold my weight. I came down and whooped her ass a little bit. I had a great time.”

Reds Punch then admitted that she only went to the parade to have a good time and wouldn’t have done anything to the lady if the White woman hadn’t done something to her first. “I don’t start with nobody. That’s not my speed. That’s not what I do. I’m having a great fucking time. It’s been 53 years, bro!”

Just as their fight went viral, Reds Punch’s explanation video has also made the rounds on multiple social media platforms. On X, folks have only found humor in the situation.

“Beating a bish ass then pussy poppin on a handstand is insane,” laughed one user.

“This chick was so unbothered by shorty that she let her get free shots in and then whooped her a**,” added another.

“She was in the right to beat her ass. The woman tried to hurt her. Thanks for posting this. She looks like fun to hang out with,” commented a third.
