Being the progeny of pop-culture titans Kim Kardashian and Ye comes with a mountain of expectations, but 12-year-old North West seems perfectly fine with climbing it—or just jumping over it entirely. For the past couple of months, North West has been teasing a pivot into the music space, and on May 1, she finally delivered. The debut of her first EP and music video has fans stunned, proving that the “musical genius” gene might just be hereditary.
Since creating her Instagram page at the end of 2025, North has been creating a unique brand image for herself featuring electric blue hair, dark, edgy fashion looks and a lot of studs and piercings. Then, at the end of January, North released her debut single, “Piercing On My Hand,” which she performed with her dad at his concert in Mexico City, according to The Root.
Finally, on May 1, she went all out and gave her fans what they’ve been waiting for. A six-track EP titled “N0rth4evr.” According to Apple Music, the very alternative EP is a blend of rage-rap and goth rock, with inspirations from Japan’s Harajuku street culture. To go with the release of her EP, the young musician dropped a grunge, glitchy, dark music video to go along with her leading single “#N0rth4evr.”
Being the daughter of hip-hop icon Kanye West, North has some major boots to fill in the music industry, and according to her fans, she’s doing it. On X, folks have done nothing but hype the 12-year-old up, calling it better than they could’ve ever expected.
“Yo that North West EP good asf i cant even lie,” wrote one user.
Another user admitted that they didn’t have high hopes and were pleasantly surprised. “North West EP the daughter of a musical genius definetly..12 years old and having a sonically cohesive project..didnt think I’d make it past first song.”

“North west ep gaggy asf,” commented a third fan.
“The North West EP is actually so fucking sick,” added another.
And if X comments weren’t enough, Rolling Stone rated the EP four stars writing that she “steps into her own” and shows off her “serious star power.”
What might surprise people the most is that North West is credited with producing the EP entirely on her own, according to Billboard. But maybe that is not surprising when her dad is Kanye West. North has had one of the best mentors in the music game, and now she is ready to show off what she has learned to the world.
